Our Installation Process

Building concrete steps is precision work. Every step needs to be the same height (called the rise) and the same depth (called the tread) to meet building codes and provide safe footing. Here's how we make sure your steps are built to last.

Step-by-Step Construction

We start by excavating the area and creating a stable base with compacted gravel. This prevents settling and cracking down the road. Next, we build precise wooden forms that shape your steps according to code requirements. Standard residential steps are 7 to 7.5 inches in rise and 10 to 11 inches in tread depth.

Then we install steel reinforcement (rebar) throughout the forms. This steel gives your steps the strength to handle heavy use and resist cracking. We pour high-quality concrete, carefully working it into all corners of the forms. After the initial set, we finish the surface with a broom texture for slip resistance.
